The Designer, Engineering-3Phase is an entry-level role responsible for learning and assisting in the design and development of transformers and related components. The Designer, Engineering-3Phase works under close supervision and guidance, developing basic technical skills and gaining experience in engineering practices. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams and supports the execution of design tasks while ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Responsibilities:- Design and develop transformer related enclosures, assemblies, and related components under the guidance of more experienced engineers, ensuring compliance with industry standards (e.g., IEEE, IEC, CSA).
- Contribute to failure analysis efforts by collecting data and assisting in identifying potential causes under supervision.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality assurance, and supply chain, to ensure successful integration of designs into production.
- Prepare and maintain basic engineering documentation, including design notes, reports, and test results, under close supervision.
- Participate in design reviews and contribute to discussions by providing data and technical support.
- Learn and stay informed on industry trends and regulatory requirements to support compliant designs.
- Support continuous improvement efforts by participating in process and product improvement.
Associate’s degree in technical field or high school diploma/GED and a related technical certification (CAD Training)
0-2 years of experience in drafting or mechanical design
Familiarity with basic design and analysis tools, such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks (coursework or internship experience acceptable).
Strong desire to learn and develop technical skills in transformer or related product design.
Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Organized, with the ability to manage assigned tasks and meet deadlines.
