Role Summary
We have an amazing opportunity for a driven and curious Design Engineer focused on water/wastewater design to support our growing team. The Water/Wastewater Engineer will design for the maintenance and repair of water/wastewater systems.
Minimum Skills
-
Typically industry internship experience
-
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering - Civil and/or Environmental
-
Exercises sound judgment on details of work and in application of standard methods for conventional and innovative work.

Has the ability to work with multiple site base files oriented in different coordinate frames and varying units.

Ability to read, understand and design topographic information.

Working knowledge of Windows, MS Office, and cloud-based collaboration software (Google Apps, Asana, Dropbox, Sharepoint, etc.)

Proficient in AutoCAD
Preferred Skills
-
Knowledge of civil design programs (Civil 3D, LDT, Storm and Sewer Analysis, Hydro CAD, Flowmasters, StormCAD, etc.)

Experience with water/wastewater process modeling simulation software (e.g., BioWin, GPS-X)
-
Certifications or other sustainability-oriented accreditation preferred (iLEED , Envision, Living Building Challenge, EcoDistricts)

Knowledge of GIS principles

Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
Expected Outcomes
-
Analyzes various wastewater treatment methods used to prepare water for industrial and domestic use; recommends the most effective method
-
Analyzes disposal methods or treatments for sludge; recommends and develops sludge treatment plants or methods to best serve the assigned area

Designs layout and specifications for various pumping and lifting systems
-
Reviews and critiques water and wastewater treatment system proposals, plans, and designs
-
Conducts appropriate cost-benefit analyses for assigned projects

Ensures building, water, and equipment specifications comply with applicable local, state, and federal guidelines and codes

Conducts environmental studies regarding the collection, treatment, or distribution of water or wastewater
