Job Overview:
Insight Global is seeking a Deputy General Counsel. Under the supervision of the Chief Legal Officer, this attorney is responsible for representing the company in various legal disputes and proceedings as well as overseeing outside counsel in the management of commercial or other complex litigation. This attorney is responsible for handling all aspects of litigation, from pre-litigation strategy to trial and appeal; as well as representing the company before government agencies at the federal, state and local levels. The attorney will have one direct report and will also advise and collaborate with other in-house attorneys and business units on litigation risks and strategies. The attorney will work with a dedicated team of labor and employment lawyers with respect to handling claims that escalate to litigation but will not otherwise be directly involved with routine labor and employment claims. The attorney will also work with the company’s Revenue department and outside counsel on material collections issues.
Specific Duties & Job Responsibilities:
- Handles all aspects of commercial litigation, including drafting pleadings and motions, conducting discovery, attending hearings and depositions, preparing witnesses, arguing motions and trials, and drafting briefs and appeals.
- Manages and supervises outside counsel, vendors and experts in litigation matters.
- Manages and supervises other litigation-focused attorneys and support staff.
- Advises and collaborates with other in-house attorneys and business units on litigation risks and strategies.
- Monitors and updates the company, including key stakeholders, on new developments and trends in litigation in order to mitigate risk.
- Serves as escalation point for business units for all collections-related disputes with clients and vendors.
- Conducts internal investigations and gathers evidence regarding potential compliance risks and provides appropriate legal counsel to business units.
- Effectively manages the legal hold process and ESI protocols.

Minimum Requirements:
- Juris Doctor degree and member in good standing of at least one state bar
- 10+ years of experience as a commercial litigation attorney.
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of civil practice and procedure and e-discovery
- Experience handling commercial litigation matters from start to finish as lead counsel, leading defense and response to government investigations, taking and defending depositions, and negotiating settlements through mediation.
- Experience with cybersecurity, fraud, internal investigations, government investigations and/or white-collar defense preferred.
