Job Title – Dental Assistant

Initial Duration – 3 months+ (with possible extension)
Pay range - $25 - $30/hr. on W2
Shift Time- Monday - 9:00 am - 5:00 pm Tuesday - 9:00 am - 5:00 pm Wednesday - 11:00 am - 7:00 pm Thursday - 9:00 am - 5:00 pm Friday - 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

Responsibilities:
- Set up for the patient to include logging in patient name, pull charts and make notes under direction of attending doctor.
- Seat patient and drape patient, fix headrest, prepare tray and instruments. Check chart, ensure information is current and complete.
- Dismiss patient to include providing appointment card for next visit, collect charts for billing, and ensure completeness of chart. Please X-Rays back into mounting sleeve, write in the Client and WCs for the day
- Clean instruments by washing all instruments after freeing them of debris and blood. Replace washed instruments into set-up tray or container and returns them for sterilization.
- Maintain equipment (at least once each week) removing debride and clean screen in suction hoses. Replace screws as required. Lavages suction hoses by running small amounts of bleach through them. Cleans and keeps dental laboratory orderly on an assigned rotational basis.
- Maintain inventory, keep area neat and organized.
- Sterilize area, bag and autoclave instruments.
- Develop radiographs, mounts and dates, identifies them, and places them in patient charts.
- Cleans and helps maintain darkroom and developing machine on an assigned basis.
- Performs other tasks as required.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Is familiar with the dental care needs and the procedures necessary for treating all pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
- Basic ability to fully utilize Client’s electronic record systems, equipment and other healthcare and billing systems relevant to this position.
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate of an approved/accredited Dental Assistant program.
Experience:
- Dental Assistant and inventory control experience preferred.
Licenses, Certifications:
- Certificate from a Dental Assistant’s program.
- CRCST Certification preferred
