The project
TECKpert seeks to hire an Database Manager to support our client, a government agency based in Tallahassee, FL. In this role, you will provide expert-level support for centralizing and modernizing the Health Management System (HMS) to a cloud-based architecture. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining database systems, creating robust applications, and ensuring compliance with data security standards.
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Design and implement IRIS/Cache databases, including data modeling and SQL.
- Develop and modify application code and database code to meet requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system issues.
- Enhance system features based on assigned work tickets.
- Participate in Agile development practices, including Sprint Planning and Daily Scrums.
- Maintain application documentation and system designs.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other data governance frameworks.
- Complete required training and submit verifications.
Compensation and Term
This opportunity is for a full-time position with a two (2) year contract term with pay commensurate with experience up to $140,000 per year. Medical, dental, vision and life insurance available after 30 days of hire.
Candidates can work remotely.
Qualifications you need
A successful Database Manager possesses or provides the following:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related degree.
- Minimum of 7 years experience in database and application development.
- Minimum of 7 years experience InterSystems IRIS/Caché Object Script.
- Minimum of 7 years experience SQL, data modeling, and database optimization.
- Minimum of 7 years experience Web technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSON, jQuery, AJAX, Bootstrap, and XML.
- Minimum of 7 years experience Web services (SOAP, REST) and secure file transfer protocols (SFTP, FTP).
- Minimum of 7 years experience Object-oriented programming and software design principles.
- Minimum of 7 years experience Encryption standards and secure communication protocols (SSL, Java Key Stores).
- Experience in Message/file transfer protocols such as TCP/IP and PGP.
- Knowledge of data governance frameworks and compliance regulations, like the Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act (HIPAA).
