Overview:
As a member of the Planning Business Intelligence team, the successful candidate will support Quonset Point and Groton shipyard operations by gathering requirements, developing data models, defining metrics, creating reports, and troubleshooting issues within data systems.

Scope of work for this position includes:
- Design and create data models which transform raw data into relevant insights for internal business partners including Planning, Operations, Design & Engineering, Finance, and HR
- Using Power BI, create dashboards and interactive visual reports
- Create charts and data documentation with explanations of algorithms, parameters, models, and relationships
- Perform ad-hoc queries/reports to provide support for special initiatives and business partners
- Write advanced SQL queries for ETL/data forensics/Business Intelligence
- Analyze data and display it in reports to aid decision-making
- Create, test, and deploy Power BI scripts, as well as execute efficient deep analysis
Required:
- BA/BS degree
- 2 years of relevant experience as a data modeler
- Familiarity with business intelligence applications
- Understanding of logical and physical data models
- Familiarity with SQL
- Proficient in MS Office Suite
- Internal candidates must be from organizations outside of operations (Casciano/Gabriel)
Preferred:
- Knowledge of data visualization techniques and dashboard design
- Experience in production metrics, process reporting and process documentation
- Experience developing tabular and multidimensional models
- Experience creating MDX and DAX queries in Power BI desktop
- Experience using advanced level calculations on data sets
