Position Overview:
The Data Maintenance Specialist / Data Steward is responsible for the accurate creation, updating, and management of dictionary data (e.g., SKUs, customers, sales reps) within company systems. This role ensures that data is current, accurate, and properly categorized to support seamless operations and accurate reporting. The specialist works closely with IT, business operations, and other stakeholders to align data management practices with organizational goals. The role also involves data stewardship and analysis to uphold data integrity and enable data-driven decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain processes for creating and maintaining SKUs (and additional dictionary data sets, as needed) across all lines of business and systems.
- Maintain customer product catalogs on eCommerce platforms.
- Audit and update data to ensure accuracy and consistency across all systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams as needed.
- Utilize ERP and inventory management software to track and manage SKUs, ensuring data accuracy and system functionality.
- Generate and analyze reports to identify discrepancies, maintain data quality, and improve reporting accuracy.
- Ensure data governance standards are applied to SKU data, maintaining quality and integrity.
- Perform data analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement.
Qualifications:
- Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
- Knowledge of best practices in SKU management and inventory optimization.
- Strong attention to detail and proficiency in inventory management software.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in data management, inventory management, or a related role.
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field, or equivalent experience.
