Job Summary
The NHMU Gift Processing and Data Entry Assistant assists with all gift and membership data entry for the Natural History Museum of Utah’s Philanthropy and Communications department.
Responsibilities
The Gift Processing and Data Entry Assistant works with the NHMU Philanthropy and Communications team on all aspects of gift processing, including preparing required deposit forms for memberships and donations, processing Museum membership requests, and other tasks essential to NHMU’s fundraising and membership efforts. You’ll also have the opportunity to assist with a wide range of NHMU Philanthropy events, including exhibition openings, lectures, and our annual summer gala. This is a great opportunity for someone to help advance the Museum’s mission, and learn the nuts and bolts of non-profit fundraising, database management, query building, and more.
Minimum Qualifications
Two years data entry experience or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience).
Proficiency in the use of data entry equipment and demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills are also required. The hiring department may require a minimum typing ability.
Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.
Preferences
Preference given to those who are interested in developing skills in database administration, have strong communication skills and high attention to detail, an ability to plan, set, and meet timelines, and are self-starters.
