Title: Fired Equipment Engineer
Location: Baytown, TX and Beaumont, TX (On-Site)
What role you will play in our team
The Fired Equipment engineer is responsible for providing technical guidance for fired equipment (process fired heaters, utility/power boilers, flares, thermal oxidizers) operation, troubleshooting, optimization, monitoring and reliability improvements across client facilities in the Baytown Area (refinery, chemical plant and polyethylene plant). Support will include both the combustion and non-combustion related components of the equipment. The engineer will provide support for routine maintenance, turnaround, and project activities within the discipline.
What you will do
Drive site asset improvement in the areas of: Safety, Reliability, Environmental Performance, Equipment Capability and Efficiency in a team setting
- Respond to plant operational events
- Analyze site fired equipment performance
- Support capital projects and minor modifications in the areas of design consulting, technical quality assurance, and start-up assistance
- Support downtime/turnaround planning and execution (i.e. worklist development, inspection, recommendations)
- Provide fired equipment training support to unit operations and mechanical personnel
- Communicate and interact daily with inspection, maintenance, process, and engineering team members
- Participate in risk assessments and investigations
- Support closure of site fired equipment gaps identified by external and internal assessments
- Assist in the development and deployment of new technology
Qualifications/Preferred Knowledge:
- Required B.S. (or higher) degree in Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent
- Prefer 5+ years of professional experience within an operating company, major engineering contractor or vendor (petrochemical or other heavy industry experience strongly desired) with direct fired equipment experience.
- Knowledgeable in relevant industry standards (API, NFPA, ASME, etc.)
- Knowledgeable in design, fabrication, and troubleshooting of fired equipment (fired heaters, flares, boilers, burners, etc.)
- Knowledgeable in design and troubleshooting of combustion equipment.
