About the Job
ARA is looking for Data Architect with a sound understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories and concepts. The ideal candidate will work under general direction, providing technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems and independently determines and develops approaches to solutions. The selected individual is responsible for designing and building new data stores using relational, graph, and NoSQL databases. Must have a strong understanding of data design, engineering, and architecture principles and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Must possess a passion for building high-quality, scalable data solutions and the ability to collaborate effectively within a fast-paced environment.
Data Architect Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement conceptual, logical and physical data models to include ElasticSearch, Historic Database, and ability to record data chain of custody
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented data designs
- Collaborate with quality assurance team members to ensure data quality and functionality
- Work with stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into data model solutions
- Support developers with Extract Transform Load (ETL) code implementation
- Optimize, troubleshoot, and resolve data issues
- Collaborate with data-scientists and -analysts to ensure data accessibility
- Stay up-to-date on the latest data engineering tools and technologies
Position Requirements:
- Must be a US citizen with an active Top Secret / SCI security clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience) along with 5-7 years of experience as a Data Architect, Designer, Engineer, or similar role OR 13 years of experience in lieu of a degree
- Strong understanding of entity-relationship design principles (OOP)
- Experience with data modeling tools (e.g., ERWin, Tom Sawyer Perspectives, etc.)
- Strong demonstrated experience with SQL and proficiency in writing complex queries
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Experience
Required- 5 - 7 years: Relevant Work Experience
Education
