SCOPE:
As an Insurance Account Representative, you will be responsible for selling products or services to targeted customers on behalf of the company. The role requires prospecting to qualified and non-qualified leads. Acting as the intermediary between a customer and the insurance company. The duty requires customizing insurance packages to meet the needs of each individual client. This includes fulfilling all policy requirements and assisting clients with servicing needs such as payments, changes, and claims. This role would be ideal for an individual with insurance agency experience, that is familiar with a multi-line sales approach. Please note this position is hybrid in nature, with a primary focus on working remotely.
DUTIES:
- Intermediary between company and customer, handling between 35 to 45 calls per day.
- Assist clients in selecting insurance policies that best meet their needs, preferences and budgets.
- Educate customers on insurance coverages and make recommendations based on their needs.
- Responsible for finding clients through prospecting, which includes cold calling, contacting referrals, working with qualified and non-qualified leads, and networking.
- Ability to meet and exceed sales quotas.
- Attends to all questions and inquiries in a courteous and highly professional manner, providing exceptional customer service and developing a rapport with the customer.
- Acts as liaison with underwriting, claims, and customer service.
- Records customer queries by annotating the inquiry and corresponding response within customers' profiles.
- Prepares for customer inquiries through an in-depth examination of products, services, and customer service procedures.
- Enters and maintains policy requests received from customers via telephone, fax or email.
- Resolves inquiries quickly and effectively with strong customer service skills.
- Reviews, analyzes, and completes endorsement submissions according to established underwriting guidelines.
- Handles cancellations/reinstatements and other miscellaneous policy changes.
- Improves quality service by recommending process changes and identifying new product and service applications.
EDUCATION:
- High school diploma plus a minimum of one year of experience as a licensed Insurance Producer is preferred.
- A Property & Casualty or Personal Lines Insurance License is required.
- Bilingual preferred
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- A minimum of 1 year of Insurance sales experience is preferred.
- Must demonstrate soft skills including analytical skills, must have excellent communication skills, and must take initiative.
- Must demonstrate familiarity with lead generation, relationship management, collaboration, and listening skills.
- Timely responses to inquiries, emails, and phone calls are a must.
- Knowledge using rating systems and client management systems is preferred.
- Proficient in Word, Excel, Windows-based applications, and internet usage.
- Must be able to exercise good judgment and state opinions assertively.
- Strong verbal and written communication is a must. Concisely being able to express the same ideas to people at many different levels, delivering messages in a positive manner.
- Must be able to perform work effectively in a highly intense environment and handle multiple tasks and demands simultaneously.
- Must illustrate analytical skills to identify, gather and organize information.
- Must be able to work independently and in a team environment.
- Must be able to perform accurate data entry.
