About the Job
We are currently working with a growing Industrial Machinery and Equipment Manufacturer in NW, IA that is looking to fill the role of Director of Manufacturing who is responsible for managing production and associated functions in the facility. Working through subordinate managers, this position ensures employees are capable of producing units within scheduled time frames, at targeted costs and quality specifications. Monitors quality and performance in areas of assigned responsibility and initiates corrective action measures as required.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
1. Supervises the Manufacturing operations throughout the organization by working through respective leaders.
2. Manages people resources to meet production schedule demands. Monitors production flow and assists subordinate managers with identifying and resolving challenges.
3. Promotes safety on an ongoing basis to assure awareness and compliance.
4. Leads strategies and processes designed to ensure material cost objectives are achieved.
5. Produces high quality products through compliance with corporate quality processes and by actively participating in and promoting continuous improvement through lean activities.
6. Identifies opportunities to make significant gains in product quality and productivity through changes in production processes, people processes, and manufacturing systems.
7. Directs the acquisition of production-related equipment. Oversees the operator’s preventive maintenance program for production areas.
8. Manages budget and expenditures as approved by the President.
Education and Experience:
Prefer a four-year degree (B.A. or B.S.) and at least five years previous management experience in a custom production environment.
Math requirements, but not limited to: logarithms, exponents, and simple statistics. Including the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
The position is on-site.
US citizen or permanent resident.
The salary range is $120-140k DOE
