What you will do in this Role:
- Primary function is to monitor operation of MS SQL database and Jobs, analyze, develop, organize, coordinate, review projects, and produce reports for utilization management, quality improvement, disease management, finance and claims and to develop and maintain systems and user databases. This position is also responsible for production processes related to data management, including interface development and support; EDI infrastructure support; in-house application support.
- Set up and Maintain MS SQL database.
- Perform various DBA duties. (Replication, backup, recovery, DB security setup/maintenance, etc.)
- Create, schedule, and maintain reports in SQL Server and Microsoft Access.
- Monitor jobs run through PPMSI’s scheduler and correct any anomalies.
- Lead projects for process improvement, reporting infrastructure changes, new report definitions, etc.
- Document processes and maintain report request logs.
- Keep upper management informed of system and operational issues.
- Ensure quality of reports. Develop testing scenarios, with end-user collaboration, conduct thorough testing and build test environments as needed.
- Coordinate testing of system enhancements/implementations. Coordinate testing with external business partners and data clearing house partners.
- Maintain the EDI application, including ETL design, development, testing, and deployment activities effectively and efficiently while maintaining existing ETL code and developing new code using SSIS. Maintain EDI trading partner-mapping objects.
- Develop EDI processes that meet HIPAA compliancy.
- Interpret the 837P 5010 Professional Consolidated Guide and translate into technical requirements for specialized data exchanges with data partners. Use guide to find root-case of EDI data defects.
- SQL code tuning as needed to improve performance.
- Manage small projects like encounter data submission from data partner
- Ability to maintain documentation in format, which easily understood by users.
- Ability to work independently and to prioritize and schedule tasks.
- Technical writing experience, preferably documenting system procedures.
- Strong system experience and ability to learn new system structures.
- Ability to understand system interfaces and organization operations and work as a team member to identify issue and develop solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated analytical skills with ability to review information to resolve user problems.

REQUIREMENTS:
Education:- Degree, or Work Experience in lieu of Degree
- Three years equivalent work experience.
- Experience in database administration and support in MS SQL Server (2005, 2008, 2012, 2019) required.
- Experience in troubleshooting and resolving data defects and code defects required.
- Experience in developing data driven EDI applications using SSIS, T-SQL, C#, VB.NET, and scripting languages (PowerShell, SFTP, WSH) required.
- Experience in Healthcare IT (emphasis on HIPPA transaction standards); preferably within a health plan/payer environment required.
- Experience with Claims Systems and processes, utilization review and management concept and finance systems required.
