Cross-Functional SAP Accounting Lead - BMW Of North America

About the Job
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead cross-functional teams and provide strategic guidance on financial transactions and accounting processes while liaising with the central and external SAP rollout team
- Independently manage complex processes and systems to support the Accounting Operations and the
Financial Analysis and Accounting Services teams with completing financial reporting deadlines in cost of retail, inventory, warranty, intercompany and accounts receivable - Prepare and monitor the financial statements of BMW of North America to ensure they are in compliance with BMW Group Accounting Guidelines and IFRS
- Serve as a subject matter expert with the ability to understand both SAP and accounting related business issues
- Lead collaboration with the GFBB project teams in several subprojects in the SAP S4/HANA environment with best practice examples from the US entities
- Lead and support external resources/partners through all phases of project development
- Fully own the documentation of processes and knowledge gathering to facilitate requests and needs
stemming from senior management initiatives - Create comprehensive documentation of existing process
- Develop technical pages on eGAAP (i.e. Internal Wiki)
- Independently drive the documentation of the Fit-Gap analyst and monitor current infrastructure to ensure
proper functionality - Ensure that financial reporting activities are processed in most effective and efficient way utilizing IFT and JRP
- Verify that internal accounting controls related to accounting processes are in place and effective
- Independently conduct technical accounting research and guidance as it pertains to current and upcoming IFRS topics and eGAAP
- Support managers and team leads in accomplishing objectives assigned to the accounting department
- Advocate for accounting group's needs to PMO and IT department
- Assist the annual audit and mid-year and interim review of the financial statements and footnotes by our
Independent Certified Public Accounting Firm - Take initiative to regularly lead ad hoc tasks and projects as part of team and BMW Group

The pay range for this role is: $119,560.00 - $140,659.00.
The selected candidate's education, skills, experience, and location will be used to determine the final salary offer. All pay ranges are based on a full-time work schedule. This statement is in accordance with state and local pay disclosure requirements.

- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- 7+ years of experience in accounting/finance
- 4+ years of advanced SAP experience in GL, A/R, Intercompany, and consolidation modules
- Comprehensive knowledge of general accounting topics on both the income statement and balance
sheet areas - Proficiency in Microsoft office tools
Preferences:
- CPA, MBA, or equivalent business experience
- 2+ years of experience as a supervising or leading a small size team (1+ members)
- 1+ years of experience in systems implementation
- 1+ years of collaboration a project of diverse and distributed teams
- 1+ years of technical accounting experience prepare accounting memoranda documenting conclusions on technical accounting issues or processes
- Experience in public accounting
- Hands-on experience implementing a new accounting standard i.e., IFRS or GAAP
- 1+ years of proven cross functional collaboration
- International automotive industry experience
- Exposure to BI Tools (Tableau, Power BI, Qlik, Adaptive, etc)
