Cost Accountant, Phoenix AZ - Confidential

Overview:

A leader in the electrical/electronic manufacturing industry is seeking a Cost Accountant to provide hands-on financial and accounting support for their manufacturing operations in Phoenix, AZ. This is a fully on-site role where you will partner with site leadership to deliver critical financial insights and support operational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and record entries in the general ledger and ensure sub-ledgers are reconciled.
• Generate monthly financial statements and ensure compliance with corporate reporting requirements.
• Manage fixed asset transactions, including depreciation, and maintain the capital equipment budget.
• Conduct reconciliations for balance sheets and various cash accounts.
• Perform cost accounting duties, including variances, raw materials, and labor cost analysis.
• Ensure compliance with SOX requirements and complete quarterly internal audits.
• Prepare and analyze intercompany reconciliations and contribute to financial reporting.
• Collaborate with operations, purchasing, and other support functions to ensure financial alignment.
• Mentor junior accounting staff and provide guidance on complex financial scenarios.
• Serve as a key consultant for operational and strategic financial planning at the site level.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required.
• 10+ years of accounting experience, with significant exposure to manufacturing environments (electronics/PCB manufacturing preferred).
• Strong proficiency in general ledger accounting, reconciliations, financial reporting, and fixed asset management.
• Expertise in Microsoft Excel (advanced level) is a must.
• U.S. citizenship required (ITAR compliance).
• CPA certification is a plus but not required.
