Job Summary: The Estimating Engineer will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for various projects. This role requires a thorough understanding of costs, and industry standards. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with project teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information for accurate estimates.
- Identify and quantify cost factors, such as production time, materials, and labor expenses.
- Develop and maintain a database of historical cost data for reference in future estimates.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations to communicate estimates to clients and management.
- Review and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure accuracy and competitiveness.
- Monitor and update estimates as project conditions change.
- Assist in the preparation of bid proposals and contract negotiations.
- Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Degree in accounting, business, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of [1-3] years of experience in estimating or a related role.
- Proficiency in estimating software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel).
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
