GENERAL FUNCTION
The Senior Tax Analyst will use strong organizational skills to focus on international tax reporting and local foreign compliance for a public multinational company with the goal of using tax technology/automation to lead to efficiencies and process improvements.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Corporate income taxes
- Prepare forms and/or assist with calculations related to US reporting of international operations: 5471, 5472, 8858, 8865, 8991, 8992, 8993 and 1118
- Establish and maintain relationships with colleagues throughout the world to source and obtain financial data for tax reporting
- Assist with the preparation of the Company’s income tax provision and effective tax rate computations in ONESOURCE Tax Provision
- Responsible for foreign branch tax compliance in Puerto Rico and Caribbean (including tax returns, extension, installments, cash forecasts, tax provision, tax grant reporting)
- Other tax functions
- Oversee foreign withholding taxes, including monthly remittances, contract and treaty review of new foreign vendors, and annual Form 1042-S filings
- Prepare memos on relevant foreign tax positions
- Research and document the application of tax laws/legislation for workpapers
- Assist with basis studies and tax gain/loss calculations associated with CFC and branch restructuring
- Book and/or coordinate accounting entries in SAP software.
- Audits
- Gather, coordinate and analyze information for international audits
- Prepare correspondence to tax authorities in response to notices and audit requests
- Technology
- Identify automation opportunities and coordinate the development of solutions to gain efficiencies
- Ability to analyze financial data from internal ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and reconcile information from database to financial statements
- Pull data from various financial reporting systems to summarize tax position and workpapers for tax returns
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; Master’s degree in Tax preferred
- 3+ years’ experience in public accounting or private industry.
- Previous experience in foreign tax compliance required.
- Corptax software, including experience with International Compliance module.
- Strong financial modeling skills and ability to extract and interpret data from various internal systems - proficient in MS Tools specifically Excel, comfortable with Pivot Tables.
- Excellent time management and organization skills
- Excellent communication skills - verbal and written
- Ability to work independently but be resourceful in delivering high quality work
- Self-Motivated, business savvy, integrity and team player
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree in Tax preferred
- Alteryx knowledge a plus
- Additional Software Skills Preferred: SAP, Oracle, Hyperion
Pay Range: 72,870.80 - 103,430.00
Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements.
