About the Job
The Corporate Accounting Manager will oversee and manage the corporate accounting functions, ensuring the accuracy of all financial reporting and compliance with relevant accounting standards (GAAP, FAR and DCAA guidelines).
The ideal candidate will have experience in corporate accounting, a deep understanding of accounting principles and strong analytical skills.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP, FAR and DCAA guidelines.
• Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting to stakeholders, including management and external auditors.
• Analyze financial results, identifying trends, variances and areas of improvement.
• Prepare and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with corporate policies.
• Assist in the preparation and analysis of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
• Provide financial insights to support strategic decision-making and long-term planning
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, as well as industry-specific guidelines and internal policies.
• Coordinate and support external audits, providing necessary documentation and addressing auditor inquiries.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements within the accounting department, implementing new tools or practices to increase efficiency and accuracy.
• Collaborate with the Director Accounting and IT and other departments to enhance accounting systems and reporting tools.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field (CPA or equivalent preferred).
• 10+ years of accounting experience.
• In-depth knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and corporate accounting practices.
• Experience with accounting software (e.g., Costpoint, QuickBooks),
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
