Job Description:
- As the Copywriter on the Sports Brand team, you will partner with a Creative Director and Design Director and be responsible for conceiving and executing breakthrough creative that delivers on the sports brand positioning and strategy.
- You'll not only build 360, sports-focused, brand-centric campaigns that will drive customer acquisition, engagement, and retention across all the channels but also create and foster genuine brand love for our client through sports programming and partnerships.
- This role will partner closely with the internal Brand marketing team as well as our client's Sports Marketing, Creative, and Design counterparts to maximize the impact of marketing opportunities through best-in-class, brand-defining creative.
- The team will also work with high-profile external partners to create the most impactful, compelling, and talked about collaborations and activations in sports that will allow our client to unlock new channels and engage with new audiences.
- You are an experienced, ambitious, passionate creative who will deliver big, bold, culturally relevant creative work that will reverberate across the industry.
- You're a conceptual thinker and prolific writer who takes big swings on ideas that are grounded in the needs of the business and help drive both short-term and long-term KPIs.
- You'll bring a deep experience in sports and brand creative marketing, with a compelling point-of-view and tone of voice that makes for truly memorable work across a variety of disciplines and platforms.
- Your copy adds a bold perspective and an innovative approach to scripts, ads, billboards, promos, taglines, platforms, presentations, sizzles, TikTok, and everything in between.
- You operate at the intersection of sports and culture, with a keen understanding of how sports can connect with audiences on a personal, deeper, emotional level.
- Whether it's the NFL, Premier League, Olympics, or Big 10, you understand the power of fandom and how to unlock it to create true brand love.
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience as a Copywriter on brand marketing, sports or entertainment campaigns at a creative advertising or design agency with a strong emphasis on brand voice and point of view. link to online portfolio required.
- A successful track record for translating strategy and marketing briefs to inspiring, innovative creative campaigns that drove user acquisition and engagement and contributed to brand love.
- A proven history of executing breakthrough creative work across all platforms for a challenger brand in order to differentiate it in a crowded marketplace.
- Experience collaborating and creating marketing campaigns with best-in-class Brand partners.
- Direct experience building relationships and collaborating with cross-functional partners (media, marketing, creative ops), internal creatives (art directors, writers, producers), and external agency partners.

- Proven ability to proactively solve creative problems, self-motivate, and work independently as well as collaboratively.
- An exceptionally creative thinker and communicator with an inquisitive mind who is comfortable and passionate about the intersection of strategy, media, marketing, consumer insights, and creativity.
- Experience making creative decisions in real-time, including developing messaging, positioning, voice, and targeting audiences based on qualitative and quantitative research, analyzing data, and applying that information to creative work accordingly.
- Strong track record of interacting and working with multiple stakeholders and partnering collaboratively with brand marketing, partnerships, design, creative ops, and consumer insights teams.
- Exceptional presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.
