Do you love and appreciate the power of words to connect people and communicate big ideas? A copywriter is a storyteller – someone who understands the needs of the audience and creates well-crafted, thought-provoking content that inspires others to take action! The copywriter will produce content for our funeral home clients and the families they serve.
The copywriter must be an expert our team depends on to ensure every piece of marketing content we create is perfect when it comes to grammar, punctuation, spelling, and sentence mechanics. The copywriter is a creative thinker who can provide ideas and direction and write compelling content for a variety of projects, from customized mailers, flyers, and ads to web content, email, social media captions, and much more. Proofreading for accuracy and correctness is also an essential function of the job and a reflection of our credibility as a company.
Responsibilities:
- Write compelling original content across a variety of mediums, including print, web, video, and social media
- Brainstorm new messaging and ideas for content, ads, social media, and marketing campaigns
- Write other related informative marketing and promotional material
- Proofread sales and marketing materials, edit and revise content as necessary
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, or related field PREFERRED
- STRONG grasp of grammar, punctuation, and written communication
- Ability to work well with a team, including graphic designers, account representatives, and lead generation specialists to produce the highest quality work
- Displays strong self-motivation; takes initiative with projects, and is proactive in discovering solutions to challenges
- Ability to learn and use new software as needed, including but not limited to HubSpot, WordPress, and MailChimp
