Position Summary: |
Develops innovative informal science and nature programs, materials and interpretative components for visiting children and their families for drop-in programs and special events in the Everett Children’s Adventure Garden or at Garden-wide events. Develops, coordinates and teaches registered caregiver/child nature exploration program. Collaborates with Explainer Coordinator to train and mentor adult and teen staff and volunteers on best practices in program facilitation.

Additionally, this position supports, through actions and conduct, NYBG’s Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility initiatives and helps to build and maintain an inclusive organization culture throughout the institution.

Physical Demands & Work Environment: While preforming the duties of this position, the employee is required to, at minimum, stand, walk, sit, use hands, climb ladders, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must be able to life/move up to 25 pounds. Work outdoors under a variety of weather conditions.

Baseline Work Schedule: Sunday-Thursday, 9:30am-5:30pm

Salary is commensurate with experience within $56,700- $63,000.
