The company is currently seeking a Controls Engineer Co-op/Intern.
Responsibilities
As a Controls Engineer Co-op/Intern, you will have an opportunity to get valuable, hands-on experience. The internship program at Daifuku Airport will combine your education with practical experience in core, electrical areas. You will learn from engineers and technical managers who paved the way in design, analysis and testing of airport material handling.
Major Areas of Responsibility
- Provide support and basic trouble shooting for current operations.
- Investigate, gather and analyze data for specifically assigned, recurring tasks.
- Identify and implement cost reduction, quality, safety and ergonomic improvement ideas.
- Implement new manufacturing processes and technology.
- Analyze assignments and determine engineering specifications.
- Compile necessary information to document the solution required for adoption of a design.
- Contribute to the success of the team by taking on additional responsibilities and completing tasks as assigned.
Basic Knowledge
- Engineering and Technology — Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of systems and services.
- English Language — Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
- Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

- Customer sites are located throughout the country; the selected candidate will need to be available, when not in class, to travel for commissioning of control systems and on-site engineering tasks that cannot be accomplished from our office. On occasion, off-shift work may be necessary to support commissioning efforts.
Qualifications
- Actively enrolled in and pursuing a B.S. or M.S. Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Experience with Allen Bradley PLC ControlLogix programming (preferred).
- AutoCAD experience (preferred).
- Willing to work hands-on with tools and mechanical equipment.
- Strong Mechanical aptitude.
- Strong organizational skills and written communication skills.
- Self-managed, hard-working, great attitude, ready to learn.
- Availability to work 24-40 hours per week between the hours of 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday.
Demonstrated Physical Abilities
Remain stationary for 50% of the time; move/traverse throughout the office to access file cabinets and office equipment; operate a computer and other productivity machinery; inspect documents; communicate with others through talking/hearing; read/identify/assess forms and correspondence. While on job sites, must be able to walk airports and plants and remain standing for most of the shift.
