Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the development and management of comprehensive financial reports, including consolidated statements of income, balance sheets, and cash flow analyses, ensuring alignment with GAAP standards.
- Coordinate the monthly financial close process, conducting thorough analyses and reconciliations, and providing insightful variance reports and documentation.
- Lead the annual audit process, ensuring transparency and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Direct tax strategy and compliance efforts, covering federal, state, local, payroll, and property taxes.
- Supervise daily financial operations and enforce adherence to corporate policies and procedures across the organization.
- Prepare and manage financial institution reporting requirements.
- Establish and refine accounting department procedures to optimize accuracy and automate processes.
Leadership and Strategic Impact
- Enhance financial models and projections to support strategic business planning and scenario analysis.
- Drive cash flow optimization and improve working capital management, providing strategic guidance to enhance financial operations.
- Lead treasury operations, focusing on maximizing cash flow efficiency.
- Analyze financial performance, identifying trends and ensuring budgetary compliance.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to boost revenue growth and customer profitability.
- Support operational departments such as manufacturing and distribution to improve margins through cost-effective strategies.
- Partner with senior management to facilitate financial planning and performance management, developing effective reporting tools to track key metrics.
- Steer the corporate annual budgeting process, offering financial insights to support a successful ERP implementation.
- Engage with insurance providers and participate in 401K and healthcare committees to ensure compliance and optimize benefits.
- Lead and mentor teams in accounts payable, accounts receivable, cost accounting, and financial planning and analysis.
- Build a robust financial and accounting team poised for future growth.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or MBA is a plus.
- A minimum of a decade of experience in accounting and financial management, preferably within a manufacturing and distribution setting.
- Experience in public accounting and at least 3-5 years in a senior financial leadership role.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to deliver compelling presentations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel; experience with COGNOS is advantageous.
- In-depth understanding of GAAP and strong business acumen.
- Customer-focused mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
