We are seeking a seasoned and dynamic Permanent Controller to join our fast-paced finance team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced finance professional to play a pivotal role in the financial management of our company. The Permanent Controller will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the accounting operations including the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk and enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives.
- Prepare, analyze and present monthly, quarterly and annual operating results for each department.
- Coordinate, administer and control financial operations within the company, ensuring compliance with statutory obligations and company policies.
- Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts, implement and oversee budgetary controls.
- Ensure that accounts payable are paid and accounts receivable are collected promptly.
- Manage the relationship with external auditors and ensure all audit issues are resolved, and all compliance issues are met, and the preparation of the annual financial statements is in accordance with U.S. GAAP and federal, state and other required supplementary schedules and information.
- Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit.
- Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants.
- Work with the executive team to develop strategic financial plans, provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent business experience. CPA or MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position.
- Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Experience in managing financial systems and budgets, financial reporting, financial data analysis, auditing, taxation and providing financial advice.
- Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results.
- Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
- High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
- Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
