Compensation: $160-180K + Bonus
Our client in the commercial construction space, roughly $10-15M in revenue, was recently acquired by a new PE sponsor and is gearing up for an aggressive growth track (via acquisition.) This is a great opportunity to build out a team and leave your stamp on things. It’s a close-knit, super laid-back group that likes to have fun (gym and batting cage in the back of the building.)
The controller will be leading the charge with audit, working closely with the private equity group and CFO on acquisitions/integrations, and be responsible for streamlining and implementing efficiencies. Prior experience with POC methodology would be a huge plus!
NOTE: CPA is required for this position
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger, payroll, and month-end closing.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
- Manage audit processes and liaise with external auditors.
- Prepare and manage the company’s budget and forecast financial performance.
- Monitor cash flow, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and analysis.
- Analyze project costs and profitability, providing insights to project managers.
- Implement cost control measures to optimize financial performance.
- Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering professional development.
Prerequisites:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA required.
- Experience in the construction industry preferred.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Proficiency in accounting software (Sage Intacct preferred) and Microsoft Excel.

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to:
- the individual’s skill sets, experience and training;
- licensure and certification requirements;
- office location and other geographic considerations;

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
