As a Contracts Specialist at CNF Technologies, you will assist the Contracts Manager in representing and safeguarding the company’s interests through effective management and communication of Federal Contracts, Subcontracts, Teaming Agreements, Purchase Orders, and Regulatory Compliance. Your responsibilities will include supporting the negotiation, review, and management of contracts, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations, and providing administrative and operational support to ensure the success of government and commercial contracting efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contract Compliance & Administration: Assist in the management of contract activities to ensure that proposals and contracts with the US Government and other customers comply with all contractual requirements, including FAR/DFAR and other applicable regulations
- Contract Review & Modifications: Support the review of new contracts and contract modifications for conformity to proposal requirements. Identify and resolve discrepancies, prepare and execute acknowledgements, and maintain all associated documentation
- Negotiation & Support: Assist in the negotiation of contracts, subcontracts, NDAs, and purchase orders. Provide support in fact-finding, auditing, and responding to contract queries
- Monitoring & Reporting: Proactively track program changes to ensure contract compliance. Assist in preparing ad-hoc reports for executive management, providing insights on contract performance, risks, and compliance status
- Research & Interpretation: Research and interpret FAR and DFAR requirements in a timely manner and collaborate with the Contracts Manager to ensure compliance with all applicable legal, regulatory, and company standards
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with internal departments such as legal, finance, and operations to ensure contracts are executed correctly and in alignment with business objectives
Required Skills:
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to interact effectively with internal teams, customers, and external partners
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
Qualification / Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in contracts administration, preferably supporting government contracts
- Working knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation (DFAR), and contract types (CPFF, FFP, T&M)
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and cost structures as they relate to contracts
- Bachelor’s degree in business, management, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in contract administration, ideally supporting government contracts
- Familiarity with contract management software and systems is a plus
Highly Preferred:
- Pursuit of the Certified Federal Contracts Manager (CFCM) certification or equivalent contract management certification is encouraged
- Experience in government contracting or procurement preferred
