Position Expectations:
Soltage is seeking a detail-oriented, proactive, and organized transactional attorney with experience in commercial contract review, negotiation, management, and compliance. This role will involve working on a wide variety of contracts within the renewable energy and battery storage sectors, including EPC contracts, project finance agreements, professional service agreements, and real estate agreements. The ideal candidate will have experience in a law firm or in-house legal setting and a strong interest in renewable energy law and projects.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a law firm or in-house legal setting and a strong interest in renewable energy law and projects.
Specific Job Functions:
- Review, draft, and negotiate various contracts, including EPC contracts, financing agreements, service agreements and real estate agreements.
- Monitor third party and internal adherence to contractual obligations, track performance, and address issues to ensure compliance to terms.
- Collaborate across departments (e.g., project finance, engineering, and business development units) to ensure seamless contract execution and effective risk management.
- Advise internal teams on contract terms, risks, and legal implications to ensure all agreements are compliant with relevant laws, regulations, and corporate policies.
- Conduct legal research on federal, state, and local laws and regulatory changes, particularly in renewable energy, to provide strategic guidance.
- Support project financing activities by conducting due diligence and managing data room preparation.
- Handle legal disputes involving the company and provide resolution strategies.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active state bar membership in good standing.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a law firm or equivalent legal setting, with a focus on transactional law, including contract review, negotiation and management.
- Experience negotiating complex contracts in project finance and renewable energy, particularly EPC agreements and contracts involving lenders and tax equity investors.
- Familiarity with real estate agreements related to renewable energy development, construction, and operation.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively between departments and external stakeholders.
- Interest in renewable energy law and the projects that support the transition to sustainable energy is a plus.
