In Personal Injury law, we offer skilled advocacy for individuals in Syracuse and Central New York, handling cases involving medical malpractice (including nursing home injuries), workplace accidents, motor vehicle accidents (car, truck, pedestrian, and motorcycle accidents), defective products, and slip-and-fall incidents.
Our Employment Law practice represents both individuals and groups in a wide range of cases under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and New York Labor Law. We focus on employment discrimination, including race, national origin, age, gender, disability, and sexual orientation claims, as well as wage and hour disputes, overtime claims, wrongful termination, harassment, retaliation, and severance agreements.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Contract Attorney to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in litigation and legal research, with the ability to handle a variety of legal matters in these specific practice areas. As a Contract Attorney, you will work closely with our senior attorneys to provide legal support on complex cases, prepare and review legal documents, and contribute to the firm's overall success.
This position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced attorney looking for flexible, project-based work while contributing to high-profile cases in personal injury, employment law, education law, and class action litigation.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough legal research, analyze case law, statutes, regulations, and legal precedents related to personal injury, employment law, education law, and class action suits.
- Assist with the preparation of legal documents, including complaints, motions, briefs, discovery requests, and responses.
- Provide support in trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, reviewing depositions, and preparing witnesses for trial.
- Draft and review settlement agreements, employment contracts, class action notices, and other legal documents, ensuring compliance with relevant laws.
- Assist with discovery processes, including drafting discovery requests, responses, and managing electronic discovery (e-discovery).
- Communicate with clients, providing updates on case progress, gathering information, and maintaining a professional and supportive relationship.
- Work collaboratively with attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants to ensure timely and efficient case management.
- Attend hearings, depositions, and trials as needed, and assist in preparing arguments and motions.
- Ensure legal filings and processes comply with relevant local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in personal injury, employment law, education law, or class action litigation (or a combination of these practice areas).
- Strong litigation experience with a focus on case preparation, legal research, and motion practice.
- Familiarity with class action procedures and multi-party litigation is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Excellent legal research and writing skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a client-focused approach.
