Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Contract Administrator with a paralegal background to join our team in the manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate will have experience in contract management, legal document review, and a solid understanding of manufacturing operations. This role will support the legal and procurement teams in negotiating, drafting, and administering contracts, ensuring compliance, and managing risks associated with supplier and customer agreements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with suppliers, customers, and service providers, ensuring all terms are in line with company policies and industry regulations.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including procurement, legal, and operations teams, to gather necessary information and ensure contract terms are met.
- Conduct legal research and provide legal guidance on contract-related matters, leveraging a paralegal background to assist in resolving issues.
- Monitor contract performance, ensuring timely renewals, compliance with terms, and the resolution of any contract disputes or issues.
- Prepare and maintain a database of contracts and related documents, ensuring accurate records are kept for compliance and audit purposes.
- Provide support in risk management activities, identifying potential risks and proposing mitigation strategies.
- Assist with contract dispute resolution, including mediation or negotiation, and liaise with external legal counsel when necessary.
- Assist with the development and implementation of contract management policies and best practices within the manufacturing environment.
- Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations, particularly in areas affecting manufacturing contracts (e.g., supplier agreements, intellectual property, trade compliance).
Qualifications:
- Education: A degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, Business Administration, or a related field. A paralegal certification is required.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Contract Administrator, Paralegal, or similar role within the manufacturing or related industry.
- Strong understanding of contract law, legal compliance, and risk management in a business environment.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes and related supply chain operations is a plus.
Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple contracts and deadlines simultaneously.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and contract management software.
- Solid understanding of contract law, including federal, state, and international regulations impacting manufacturing agreements.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
