- Project Engineer: $70k - $100k
- Assistant Project Manager: $90k - $120k
- Superintendent: $125k - $170k, plus car allowance and gas card
- Project Manager: $130k - $170k, plus car allowance and gas card

Reports to: Senior Project Manager and General Superintendent
Primary Responsibilities and Duties
Highland is looking for a Superintendent to coordinate field operations for one of our San Diego multi-family projects with a commitment to quality and safe construction processes. Supervisory responsibilities include overseeing field operations, maintaining a safe project site, and monitoring work quality. Additional responsibilities include:
- Manage all aspects of the construction process for multi-family projects, including scheduling, subcontractor management and quality control.
- Possess the ability to communicate the overall job plan, in detail, to subcontractors and others involved in the project.
- Develop and instill confidence, competence and trust when representing the Company to the Owner and other stakeholders.
- Communicate and document impacts to the schedule, the logistical plan and costs as changes develop.
- Monitor schedule with the Project Manager and Project Engineers.
- Oversee field operations including supervising and managing personnel and subcontractors
- Monitor work quality, implements and oversees the Field Quality Control Program
- Develop the job site safety plan in coordination with General Superintendent and Assistant Superintendents.
- Manage and monitor construction activity to maintain compliance with contract specifications and company quality and safety standards. Take immediate appropriate action to correct any safety issues.
- Oversee tool acquisitions, inventory, returns, and equipment rentals.
- Post job site work rules, signage, and bulletin boards.
- Oversee and initial Daily Construction Reports generated by subcontractors.
- Schedule safety meetings.
- Chair weekly subcontractor coordination meetings and verify minutes.
- Develop accident procedure with Project Manager, Assistant Superintendents and Engineers
- Participate in weekly coordination meetings with architect and owner.
- Prepare and oversee job schedules (look-ahead schedules at three-weeks).
- Chair the finish trade coordination meetings.
- Demonstrate full and current knowledge of all OSHA Safety requirements and maintain compliance with these requirements on the job site at all times.
- Complete and process back-charge documentation.
- Obtain acceptance of completed work.
- Coordinates special inspections as required.
- Demonstrate basic knowledge of commercial construction projects (surveying, excavation and site rough grading, masonry installation and framing, and interior finishes).
- Communicate job status to Project Manager and other management team members on a regular basis.
- Maintain a professional line of communication with clients and subcontractors.
- Represent Company at all times with professionalism and a commitment to quality.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations to include health, safety, and welfare as appropriate.
Minimum Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience as a Multi-Family Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent.
- Work experience in all disciplines of construction (civil, structural, architectural, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing) preferred.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a team of subcontractors and trade personnel.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with project stakeholders.
- Knowledge of local building codes and regulations.
- Experience with Microsoft Project and Procore software.
Physical Demands
Performance of the required duties will require physical ability to climb stairs, and ladders, and negotiate work areas under construction. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works on-site at the construction work site where the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts, multi-story work environments, and moderate to loud noise.
