As a Construction Superintendent, you will be at the heart of our organization's construction projects. This role is perfect for a hands-on, detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for overseeing all construction activities, ensuring safety compliance, managing project schedules and budgets, coordinating with contractors, and maintaining quality control. You will be the driving force in bringing our blueprints to life, ensuring our projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee all aspects of construction project from planning to implementation.
2. Allocate resources for assigned projects.
3. Supervise onsite personnel and subcontractors.
4. Interface with project inspectors, contractors, architects, engineers, and clients.
5. Negotiate with contractors to receive reasonable order costs.
6. Maintain high standards of workmanship that adhere to original plans and specifications.
7. Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status.
8. Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones.
9. Analyze, manage, and mitigate risks.
10. Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques.
11. Manage construction schedules and budgets.
12. Enforce strict safety guidelines and company standards.
Qualifications:
1. Minimum 5 years of experience as a Construction Superintendent or in a similar role.
2. Bachelor's degree in construction management, architecture, engineering or related field.
3. In-depth understanding of construction procedures, material, and project management principles.
4. Excellent knowledge of construction material and equipment.
5. Proficient in reading and understanding blueprints and technical drawings.
6. Strong leadership and management skills.
7. Excellent problem-solving abilities.
8. Good knowledge of MS Office and construction/project management software.
9. Familiarity with construction/ project management software.
10. Outstanding communication and negotiation skills.
11. A strong commitment to safety and knowledge of safety management principles.
12. Proven budgeting and scheduling management experience.
13. Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
14. A team player with leadership abilities.
15. PMP or an equivalent certification would be considered an asset.
