Superintendent
The Superintendent will manage assigned projects, including field operations, site safety, productivity, schedule, quality control, trades contractor, and supplier coordination. The Superintendent works in conjunction with the Project Manager leading the project team on the field. The Superintendent reports directly to the Project Manager. A Superintendent is a person who plans and ensures the coordination of construction jobs. They have the responsibility of supervising the construction project. They ensure that the quality of work and materials is upheld and that the budget is followed as planned; they are entitled to the total supervision of all the operations on the site; they ensure that the workers are implementing what is on the construction drawings and specifications; monitors the workers and the progress of the project and reports to their employers as well as to the general public. They are held liable for any happenings at the construction site and see that the project is completed on time, within budget, and that the standards are met.
Responsibilities:
- Ensuring that the health and safety project plans are implemented and maintained.
- Being on-site to oversee the construction processes
- Ensuring that the budget is followed in terms of field purchases
- Organizing the contractors and ensuring that they are performing as required
- Recording the total costs for materials bought and payments for field purchases
- General inspection of the workers and their performance and safety
- Ensuring that the stipulated rules and regulations are met per client needs
- Coordinates with government inspectors on the standard requirements of the site in terms of licenses and safety
- Understand Project Management Software
- Create, implement, and maintain project schedules
- Follows the project construction process to ensure that it is completed on time
- Supervise the subcontractors and ensures that they are punctual in correct PPE and that they deliver successfully
- Ensure that quality is preserved in the construction process
- Write project progress records daily, along with photo documentation
- Understands and implement OSHA safety requirements sitewide
- Works closely with Project Management for utilities, permits, plan checks, and Certificates of Occupancy to obtain all necessary approvals
- Knowledgeable of SWPPP requirements site-wide and mitigate any impact on the outlying community
Minimum Requirements:
- High School and completion of Vocational School a plus
- College degree preferred. 8 to 10 years of related experience or equivalent role (Commercial, Higher Education, and Health Care construction experience preferred
- Familiar with MS Project, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Sure-Trak software.
- Excellent written and verbal
- Proficient in understanding building plans and
- Team player with field supervision, project management, and company administration staff.
