My client is a growing property management company looking to expand into the commercial construction industry. They are seeking an experienced and driven Construction Project Manager with commercial general contracting expertise to lead and execute construction projects in-house. This is a unique opportunity to join a team that values innovation and efficiency, allowing us to manage remodels, additions, and new builds without outsourcing.
Position Overview:
The Construction Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing all phases of commercial construction projects, from concept to completion. This individual will create schedules, manage budgets, supervise construction teams, and ensure the successful execution of projects that align with our company’s strategic goals. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in commercial construction, a strong understanding of general contracting, and the ability to lead projects of varying complexity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage commercial construction projects, including remodels, additions, and new builds, from start to finish.
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Oversee all aspects of project planning, including budgets, permits, subcontractor coordination, and resource allocation.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and regulations.
- Supervise and coordinate with construction teams, subcontractors, and vendors to maintain quality and efficiency.
- Provide regular updates on project progress, challenges, and solutions to stakeholders and leadership.
- Collaborate with the property management team to align construction projects with broader company objectives.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings in construction operations.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Construction Project Manager in the commercial construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of general contracting processes and construction management best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects of varying scope and complexity, including remodels, additions, and new builds.
- Proficiency in project management software and scheduling tools.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
- PMP or equivalent certification is a plus.
