We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Project Manager to join our dynamic team with a background in Higher Education or other Education project types. You will be responsible for overseeing a wide range of construction projects from beginning to end, ensuring they are completed in a timely and efficient manner. The successful candidate will be the go-to person for everything involving a project’s organization and timeline. Job Details
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee all stages of project life cycle, including conception, design, planning, execution, monitoring, control, and closure.
2. Manage and coordinate with the project team, including architects, engineers, construction workers, and subcontractors.
3. Prepare and submit budget estimates, progress reports, and cost tracking reports.
4. Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with project specifications, building codes, and safety regulations.
5. Develop and maintain relationships with clients, stakeholders, and vendors.
6. Resolve any issues or problems that arise during the construction process.
7. Negotiate contracts with external vendors to reach profitable agreements.
8. Obtain permits and licenses from appropriate authorities.
9. Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors.
10. Review work progress on a daily basis and make necessary adjustments to ensure project stays on schedule and within budget.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Construction Project Manager or similar role.
3. Proven experience as a General Contractor working on Education project specifically.
4. Strong knowledge of construction materials, processes, and equipment.
5. Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
6. Ability to plan and see the “big picture”.
7. Proficient in project management software.
8. Strong problem-solving abilities and a hands-on attitude.
9. Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
10. In-depth understanding of construction procedures, material, and project management principles.
11. Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards.
12. A valid license for the safe operation of construction equipment is a plus.
