ThermFlo supports large companies, municipalities, and healthcare systems in the Upper Midwest providing 24/7 service for mission critical power generation, thermal, and data center systems. The Construction Project Coordinator is responsible for executing and supporting the successful delivery of assigned construction projects from inception through completion. This role involves coordinating with various stakeholders, managing project budgets and schedules, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and verifying quality standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:The Construction Project Coordinator works with the Special Projects team to manage and coordinate throughout the project lifecycle, verifying quality standards, and delivering projects on time and within budget for customers in the IL, IN, and WI tri-state area.
Their main duties include:
- Project Planning and Coordination: Develop and manage detailed project plans, including scope, schedule, and budget, coordinating with clients, engineers, contractors, and local authorities having jurisdiction (AHJ) to ensure project requirements and permits are met. This role will have oversight to project design, equipment, materials, subcontractor procurement process, and supporting construction phases.
- Budget and Cost Management: Monitor and manage project budgets, including estimating costs, and approving and monitoring expenditures, submitting purchase orders, and helping to identify and address potential financial issues and variances.
- Schedulingand Resource Management
- Create and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely completion of tasks and milestones. Allocate resources efficiently and manage project teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Quality and Compliance: Support quality checks on all construction work to ensure it meets industry standards, codes, and regulations, conducting inspections. Conduct onsite quality control checks throughout the project lifecycle and address and/or escalate issues related to compliance or quality.
- Communication and Reporting: Provide regular updates to stakeholders on project progress, including status reports, risk assessments, and issue resolution. Take part in regularly scheduled construction calls onsite and virtually. Facilitate effective communication between project teams and stakeholders.
- Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and support the development mitigation strategies. Address and resolve project administrative challenges and issues promptly.
- Safety Management: Ensure adherence to safety regulations and protocols on the job site. Promote a culture of safety and conduct regular safety meetings and inspections.
- Comprehends and adheres to all safety, quality, and Company guidelines specified in the Employee Handbook, the safety policy manuals, quality procedures or any official Company documents.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:- Education: Requires a GED.
- Project Management Background: 3 years of experience in construction project management, including working with commercial sized project plans, budgets, and schedules.
- Construction Knowledge: Ability to read construction plans and documents at a basic level, and understand applicable codes, policies, standards, and theory related to construction projects.
- Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills. Should be able to adapt communication style to suit different audiences.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and decision-making ability.
- Computer Skills: Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Supervisory Responsibilities
- This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
- Education: Associate or bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Construction Management or a related field.
- Construction Project Management: Experience working with municipalities, electrical, or mechanical clients in a project management capacity.
- Software: Experience with NetSuite, and intermediate Excel.
- Safety Certifications: OSHA 10 certified, or OSHA 30 preferred.
- Driving/Travel Responsibilities: This position requires occasional travel that can result in weekly customer and site visits. Efforts are primarily focused within the Chicagoland area/tristate region. Occasional national travel may be required to support prospects, clients, and related events such as trade shows, etc. International travel is not anticipated but may be required based on client need. A valid driver's license, current automobile insurance, and valid passport are required.
- Physical Demands: This position requires the ability to operate within an office environment, operate as an observer at field sites, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Reasonable accommodations will be provided aligned with current federal and state regulations upon request.
- Work Environment: This position will have a similar split between working in a professional office environment and working in the field. The employee may also work in high, precarious places where the noise level may be occasionally loud.
- Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This is a salaried, full-time position operating Monday-Friday with occasional evening and weekend requirements in the case of customer emergencies.
