For over 45 years, we have assisted our clients in various projects, including water and wastewater treatment plants, storm drainage, land development, transportation, planning, construction management, and surveying. We have 10 locations across Texas: Houston, Katy, The Woodlands, Dallas, Fort Worth, Austin, Round Rock, Bryan/College Station, San Antonio, and New Braunfels. We currently employ over 650 experienced design professionals and support staff with plans for continued expansion and growth.
We are looking for an experienced Construction Inspector to join our team focused on Water and/or Wastewater Treatment facilities.
Responsibilities:
- Understand the general process of water and wastewater treatment facilities.
- Must have a general knowledge of the electrical, instruments, and control functions of a water and/or wastewater treatment facility.
- Ability to manage a construction project daily.
- Ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
- Responsible for job-specific quality system tasks as defined in the quality management plan.
- Perform daily inspections of all materials and workmanship and communicate deficiencies with the Contractor and Construction Services Manager.
- Prepare daily reports and accurately document all work performed before leaving the site.
- Must know how to read a critical path schedule.
- Attend various construction meetings to understand the scope of each project fully.
- Manage and answer residents’ inquiries and issues.
- Communicate and follow up, with oral and/or written reports, regarding the project's progress to the project engineer, project manager, and/or Construction Services Manager.
- Identify and present possible solutions to potential project-related complications to the project engineer, project manager, and/or Construction Services Manager.
- Ability to read all specifications, plans, shop files, and submittals
- Understands and is completely familiarized with the plans and specifications
Requirements
- At least 8 years of progressive experience with water and wastewater treatment plant construction projects.
- Water & Wastewater Treatment Plant Construction, Large Industrial Plant Construction, Oil & Gas Facilities consisting of concrete tankage, buried or above‐ground piping, coating systems, caisson construction, electrical, lighting, and low-pressure air delivery systems: 8 years
- Must have an understanding of survey benchmarks, elevations, and construction staking.
- Must operate a level and understand cuts, fills, and elevations for grades.
- Must know how to scale and measure distances and have basic math skills to compute quantities and costs when requested.
- Ability to generate documents on a Company‐provided tablet
- Must be proficient in handling, managing, creating, and modifying PDF documents.
- Must be able to interpret and implement company-mandated safety policies.
- Must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
