CDI Engineering Solutions is a multi-disciplinary engineering organization offering a full range of integrated engineering design, project support, procurement and construction management services to the energy and chemicals industries.
Position Summary:Provides direction and leadership for construction work force.
Project Size – Varies, ranging from $1.0mln to $100mln total cost.
Active Construction Projects – approximately 1-10, size and complexity dependent.
Portrays and represents a safety-first culture in all construction activities with all construction contractors.
Intervene respectfully with all unsafe acts immediately during construction activities. Provide safe environment for all construction personnel. Provides constructability and safety input during front end engineering, design and planning of construction scope. Identifies and acquires all needs for construction contractors to perform construction scope.
Assists in the development of construction schedules. Coordinates the interfaces between all contractors such as mechanical, pipe, structural, scaffold, insulation, paint, electrical and insulation etc.
Participates in the development of construction plans.
Ensures all construction contractors are executing the project in accordance to the plan and schedule as agreed to by the project team by monitoring and validating progress reported and productivity achieved by the construction contractors. Ensures the construction contractors are executing the project in accordance with all safety rules and expectations of the contractor and owner. Serves as the focal point for the construction contractors and other project team members during field execution. Directs field activities for assigned project or project area and is the first line of contact with the construction contractors. Must concur with contractor schedules and budgets for construction activities. Assumes the lead role for resolving Quality Control Issues raised by the Discipline Inspectors. Complies with the established Management of Change (MOC) Order and Request for information Processes. Request and manages all construction equipment to execute construction scope. Assumes the lead role for organizing construction status review meetings for the, stakeholders and Project Teams. Resolve all field coordination issues immediately and work until complete.
Responsibilities:Highly demanding and fast paced job, particularly during field construction.
Assuring the delivery of results in the 5 performance areas of safety, environmental, quality, schedule, and cost for construction.
Maintaining / assuring strong relationships among project construction teams during times of high energy and stress.
Supporting accurate controls on safety, budget, schedule, and production.
Environmental and quality control associated with projects.
Supports and promotes the Department’s safety vision.
Ensures assigned projects are progressing without delays in line with the current budgets and schedules.
Responsible for confirming and reporting status of all work assigned daily.
Ensures crafts are highly productive by removal of barriers.
Responsible for spending authorization for assigned contractors.
Ensure Goal zero and Learner mindset is in place for contractors onsite.
Works with the Construction contractors and Project Engineers to adequately staff the construction projects.
Drives KPI compliance and improvements with respect to productivity, schedule attainment, and work permit delays.
Qualifications:
10-15+ Years of Experience in, construction, turnarounds, or maintenance in a supervisory or leadership role in the chemical and refinery industries.
Knowledge of construction execution and project controls and management.
