Position Overview
As a Construction Administrator, you will play a critical role in supporting the day-to-day operations of construction projects from start to finish. You will ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. This is a hands-on position that requires a deep understanding of the local construction market, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the administrative aspects of single-family residential construction projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure smooth project execution.
- Monitor progress on the job site, address any issues, and ensure that construction schedules are adhered to.
- Manage project documentation, including contracts, change orders, permits, and inspections.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring clear and effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Track project expenses and assist with cost control efforts to stay within budget.
- Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety standards, and regulations.
Qualifications
- Must live in or around the Santa Monica area.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in construction administration, specifically within the Los Angeles market.
- Strong understanding of residential construction processes, particularly single-family homes.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a sense of urgency and attention to detail.
- Proven experience in project coordination, scheduling, and budgeting.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, contractors, and vendors.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think on your feet in fast-paced environments.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and construction management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, etc.).
Compensation
- Salary range: $85,000 - $110,000 per year, based on experience.
