Job Title: Construction Accountant

Location: Phoenix, Arizona (Relocation Required)

Experience: 7+ years

Education: College Degree in Accounting or related field preferred but not required. 

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Construction Accountant to join our dynamic team located in Phoenix, Arizona. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing financial aspects of construction projects, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining effective communication with subcontractors. Relocation to the Phoenix market is a requirement for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Management:

   • Oversee and manage the financial aspects of construction projects from initiation to completion.
   • Manage Payroll, billing, AP/AR
   • Monitor project budgets, expenses, and revenue recognition.
   • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

2. Communication with Sub-Contractors:

   • Establish and maintain effective communication with subcontractors regarding invoicing, payments, and financial documentation.
   • Collaborate with project teams to address financial queries and discrepancies.

3. Software Proficiency:

   • Utilize Sage and Timberline software for accurate and efficient financial tracking and reporting.
   • Ensure proficiency in using construction accounting software to streamline processes.

4. Budgeting and Forecasting:

   • Collaborate with project managers to develop and update project budgets.
   • Provide financial forecasts based on project progress and anticipated expenses.

5. Financial Reporting:

   • Prepare and analyze financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
   • Present financial information to key stakeholders and management.

6. Audit Support:

   • Assist in the preparation and coordination of internal and external audits.
   • Ensure all financial records are accurate and audit-ready.

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of experience in construction project accounting.
• Strong proficiency in Sage and Timberline software.
• Excellent communication skills, especially in interacting with subcontractors.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
