Responsibilities:
- Oversee all financial operations of the commercial property portfolio, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Develop and implement effective financial strategies, controls, and systems to support the growth and profitability of the company.
- Manage and supervise the accounting team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Review and analyze financial data and reports, and present findings and recommendations to senior management.
- Maintain compliance with all local, state, and federal laws regarding financial reporting and accounting standards.
- Collaborate with other departments to support overall department goals and objectives.
- Monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met.
- Respond to inquiries from the Director of Finance, and other finance and firm-wide managers regarding financial results, special reporting requests, etc.
- Work with the external auditors to ensure a clean and timely year-end audit.
- Supervise the general ledger group to ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A Master’s degree or CPA is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position, preferably in the construction or real estate industry.
- Proven experience with MRI or Timberline software and other industry-related accounting systems.
- Strong knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles.
- Excellent analytical abilities to grasp the key points from complicated details.
- Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage well through ambiguity and complexity.
- Ability to execute and follow through to completion and documentation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents.
- Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints.
- Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
