About the Job
AAC has a requirement to provide Configuration Management Database Engineering support for Salado Isolation Mining Contractors (SIMCO). SIMCO manages and operates the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP), a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) facility. The WIPP is an engineered repository, designed to permanently dispose waste contaminated with trace amounts of radioactive transuranic elements from research and production of nuclear weapons in the U.S. DOE defense program(s).
The Configuration Management Database Engineer’s duties encompass the following:
- Acts as a System Administrator for the DevonWay System Health Report (SHR) module.
- Supports Engineers with the SHR module.
- Maintains the SHR module to reflect site personnel assigned to the system.
- Ensures continuous improvement of the SHR module to ensure the best functionality for Engineering.
- Designs and develops Engineering software that will ensure continuous improvement in Engineering processes and workflows.
- Supports Engineers with information systems (i.e., ECN register, Computerized History and Maintenance Planning System [CHAMPS], DevonWay, etc.).
- Maintains Engineering software for Business Impact Analysis and Performance Impact Analysis.
- Maintains qualification of ASTR-01, Administrative Subcontract Technical Representative, for Engineering.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor of Science (BS) in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 2-5 years of experience in database management, configuration management, systems engineering, or a related field
- Knowledge of configuration management, database design, migration, performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and data backup and recovery
- Strong understanding of Database Management, Configuration Management, and Change Management principles and processes
- Experience with configuration management, database management, and version control tools
- Familiarity with relational databases and basic querying to manage and retrieve data
- Knowledge of the Systems Engineering Lifecycle and experience with DOE or other Government acquisition lifecycles
- US citizenship, with the ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q clearance
- Strong communication skills, and proficiency with common desktop productivity tools including MS Office
- An ability to work both in a team or independently as required
Desired Skills:
- 6+ years of prior related work experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of database technologies, data warehousing, data wrangling and transformation, business intelligence, prescriptive and predictive modeling and analysis, SQL and VBA scripting, and computer system skills
- Proficiency in scripting languages and software development
- Understanding of API use and integration to automate routines
- Strong analytical skills for troubleshooting and ensuring the integrity of data within a database
- Familiarity with requirements management tools such as IBM Rational DOORS Next Generation
- Familiarity with the design and development of 3D printing models
- Program/Project Management experience
- Prior experience with DevonWay, CHAMPS, and software for Business Impact Analysis and Performance Impact Analysis is a plus
