Rack & Ballauer Excavating Co., Inc. is currently searching for a full-time Concrete Superintendent to join their team in Hamilton, Ohio. Rack & Ballauer is a family-owned business that has been operating for more than 40 years! Required Qualifications for our Concrete Superintendent:

• 3 years’ experience in charge of multiple concrete crews in a supervisory role required
• Highway and/or roadwork experience
• Experience with laying out curbs, walks, curb ramps, and concrete paving with proper slope calculations and curb ramps meeting ADA compliance requirements
• Experience around a curb machine and ability to layout jobs using a curb machine
• Ability to read roadwork plans and is familiar with ODOT specifications and standard drawings
• Ability to train new foreman as they are brought onboard or promoted and troubleshoot problems that come up on a daily basis in this line of work
• Ability to use basic software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

Preferred Qualifications for our Concrete Superintendent:

• Familiar with KYTC specifications and standard drawings
• Ability to perform takeoffs and estimate concrete work to assist our estimator when needed using HCSS
• Ability to update project schedules with Microsoft project

Our Concrete Superintendent will:

• Go over submitted weekly work performed and inputted by foreman and approve quantities and units of work performed on a daily basis by software/tablet
• Attend pre-construction meetings with PM and assist with setup of projects
• Call in utility markings requests and update them as the job progresses
• Coordinate concrete crews schedule with upcoming work for other contractors and R&B in-house concrete work with road crews
• Travel within Greater Cincinnati area individually
• Assist concrete estimator with job setup, buyout, etc.
