The Communication Specialist I-Web/Digital position focuses on writing, deploying, monitoring and optimizing content for web, digital advertising, social media and email marketing across the health system. Daily responsibilities include creating and maintaining web and digital marketing communications content for the Bronson website and multiple digital media channels. It also involves strategic communication planning and support for designated services within the Bronson system. The position involves a high degree of interaction with people at all levels of the organization and involves interaction in the community as a Bronson representative. As a member of the Corporate Communications team, the Communication Specialist I performs strategic research and planning, develops awareness and volume-building strategies, implements and measures communication campaigns for the web, and implements digital advertising production, collateral development, publication production, special events, and other communications tactics using in-house services and outside agencies and serves as the primary contact for assigned clients. Significant analytical ability and independent judgment are involved in determining work processes and priorities in dealing with confidential information. The position requires hands-on execution and management of diverse, multi-dimensional marketing programs and the ability to target marketing programs to segmented consumer, physician and business audiences.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Business Administration or related field and a minimum of one-year internship or equivalent professional experience in communications, marketing or advertising.
- Additional related professional experience with social media, SEO/SEM, HTML, web accessibility and user experience is preferred.
- Must have extensive knowledge of effective and efficient marketing and communication practices and writing experience.
- Monitor and report on content performance to ensure continuous improvement.
- Communicate and provide resources to corporate communications team and clients on best practices and strategies.
- Monitor relevant online metrics for institutional feedback.
- User support/coordination for digital publishing tools, CMS, etc.
- Coordinate updates with vendor for website functionality and templates.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills.

- Develops and implements a market-differentiated strategy for services to ensure growth objectives are met. This may include a focus on branding strategies, patient satisfaction, cross referrals, linkage with other services/entities, or other communication approaches.
Serves as both a strategic consultant and tactician to assist clients in achieving business objective (volume goals, increased penetration in service areas, consumer perception, etc.). - Collaborates closely with clients to review key measures such as market share, patient volume, competitive information, patient satisfaction data, scorecards and other research information to determine marketing and communication needs and strategies.
- Cultivates strong relationships with clients and other key stakeholders.
- Anticipates clients’ needs, identifies opportunities and solutions, customizes as appropriate matching resources to needs, conducts research and resolves problems.
- Educates key stakeholders about web/digital marketing functions and about their role in creating and sustaining effective strategies.
- Coordinates all steps of the complex communications and marketing process.
Writes copy for various communications and advertising vehicles according to Bronson brand and literacy standards. - Develops key messages for client communication.
- Develops and implements a wide range of communications and marketing tactics including key message development, copy development for traditional and digital vehicles, traditional and digital advertising, media planning and implementation, collateral production, print pieces such as fliers and invitations, promotional items ordering, and more. Coordinate, develop and distribute patient testimonials.
- Creates, produces and distributes communication materials for internal and external audiences, including advertising, brochures, flyers, direct mailers, publications, letters, news releases, web-based and digital content and other tactics, in accordance with organizational priorities.
Develops and implements monitoring and tracking systems to determine effectiveness of communications and marketing plans. - Develops and tracks budgets and serves as steward to most efficiently and effectively implement resources across the organization.
- Manages finances to achieve plan implementation within approved limits. Alerts Director and clients of emerging opportunities/risks relative to the budget.
- Works with internal and external resources, including graphics/digital team, ad agency, freelance writers and designers, and others.
- Represents Bronson in collaborative efforts with other providers and community agencies.
- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

MENTAL/VISUAL FATIGUE
Work which produces high levels of mental/visual fatigue, e.g., interactive and repetitive or small detailed work requiring alertness and concentration for sustained periods of time, the operation of and full attention to a personal computer or CRT between 40 and 70 percent of the time.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The job produces some physical demands. Typical of jobs that include regular walking, standing, stooping, bending, sitting, and some lifting of light weight objects.
