Are you a seasoned professional with a knack for estimation and a deep understanding of the construction industry? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! Our company is seeking a Permanent Commercial Millwork Estimator who can bring their expertise to our dynamic team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to contribute to a leading construction company.
Responsibilities:
As a Commercial Millwork Estimator, you will play a crucial role in our company's operations. Your duties will include but not be limited to:
1. Preparing detailed estimates for commercial millwork projects based on architectural drawings and specifications.
2. Analyzing blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for products, projects, or services.
3. Maintaining relationships with key suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing.
4. Working closely with project managers, engineers, and manufacturing personnel to ensure accurate estimates and project timelines.
5. Evaluating the cost-effectiveness of products, projects, or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops.
6. Consulting with clients, vendors, and other stakeholders to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
7. Conducting special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data or to effect cost reduction.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you must have a specific set of skills and experience. The required qualifications for this role are:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Commercial Millwork Estimator in the construction industry.
2. Proven experience with installation processes.
3. Proficiency in reading and understanding architectural drawings and specifications.
4. Strong knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of houses, buildings, or other structures.
5. Exceptional analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
6. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
7. Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of securing favorable terms.
8. Proficiency in using estimating software.
9. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
