We are seeking a Commercial Litigation Paralegal to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a keen understanding of the legal industry and a knack for handling a variety of tasks related to commercial litigation. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, contributing to high-profile cases and working closely with a team of experienced attorneys.
Responsibilities:
1. Assist attorneys with all aspects of commercial litigation, including case management, document review, and trial preparation.
2. Conduct extensive legal research and factual investigation to support case preparation.
3. Manage aspects of e-discovery, including the collection, processing, review, and production of electronic data.
4. Draft, review, and file legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
5. Coordinate with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and experts.
6. Maintain case files, calendars, and databases to ensure information is updated and readily accessible.
7. Prepare for and attend depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials.
8. Monitor developments in commercial litigation law to keep the team updated on any changes.
9. Ensure strict confidentiality and privacy of sensitive client information.
Qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Commercial Litigation Paralegal.
2. Paralegal certification from an ABA-approved program or equivalent.
3. Proven experience in e-discovery, including the use of e-discovery software.
4. Excellent research skills with a high level of proficiency in using legal research platforms.
5. Demonstrated ability to draft legal documents and correspondence with attention to detail.
6. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously.
7. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software.
9. Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, to meet tight deadlines and deliver high-quality work.
10. Knowledge of court rules, procedures, and evidence rules.
11. Strong commitment to professional ethics and client confidentiality rules.
