- This role is the key contact for the commercial relationship with DWP and our Prime Provider in Lot 2 (Capita)
- Responsible for the commercial governance of the FAS contract as a Prime Provider to DWP and a sub contractor in Lot 2 to Capita
- As the key contact for the commercial relationship, the Commercial Director interacts with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and the Prime Provider (Capita). This involves negotiating commercial terms and ensuring contractual requirements are met
- Responsible for ensuring all contractual change and commercial requirements from DWP & Prime Provider in Lot 2 is assessed and any risk mitigated
- Ensuring all DWP commercial correspondence is cascaded through the business and timelines are met in terms of obligations on controlled correspondence, sent and received via BRAVO (or other appropriate channels)
- Understand the contractual commercial elements and work collaboratively with key SLT members to ensure business performance is in line with the commercial mechanisms and penalties in the contract
- Ensure all change is impacted and mitigated with appropriate correspondence and commercial protection ahead of implementation.
- Lead and manage the commercial team. Ensuring the team deliver an effective, high performing service to the business and key stakeholders
- Collaborating with the Senior Leadership Team, this role ensures that the business performance aligns with contractual mechanisms and penalties, reducing any financial exposure on the contract.

- This role is responsible for managing the commercial elements of the FAS contract across Lot 1 and Lot 2. Understanding the intricacies of the contract and working closely with key stakeholders internally to minimise the financial impact on the contract in the event of failed service credits. Understanding of all aspects of the commercial mechanisms in the contract and working with SLT members to ensure full understanding of performance metrics to ensure contract delivery is achieved
- Comprehensive Understanding of Commercial Mechanisms: You must grasp all aspects of the commercial mechanisms within the contract. Working closely with Senior Leadership Team (SLT) members, you ensure a thorough understanding of performance metrics to achieve successful contract delivery
- Effective Change Management: Before implementing any contractual changes, you ensure their appropriate impact ahead of any implementation. This proactive approach helps mitigate risks and ensures smooth transitions.
- Work collaboratively with Prime Provider, Lot 2 to ensure any flow down from their prime contract is effectively change managed and impacted in Maximus
- Work closely with our PIP Supply chain partners, to ensure any commercial implications on service delivery are shared and managed effectively with them in conjunction with the Supply Chain Director.
- Lead contract negotiations on behalf of Maximus with the support of Programme Director for Prime contract and as sub contractor to Lot2 prime provider
- Relationship management with Client (Capita) particularly senior representatives accountable for the commercial relationships and delivery performance
- Leadership and direct line management of colleagues within the commercial function. Provide leadership and guidance. Working to develop an engaged, motivated and high performing team.

Qualifications & Experience
- Proven senior level experience (3+ years) of leading delivery operations in a service environment
- Proven capability to lead and influence in a complex multi-stakeholder environment
- Demonstrable Commercial Capability
- Work flexibly, travel extensively and effectively around the UK
- Established, values-driven leader, with ability to lead, mentor and coach employees
- Strongly performance focussed with a track record of proven success
- Customer focused both internal and external with ability to command respect quickly
- Proven ability to analyse problems, interpret operational needs, and develop integrated, creative solutions
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals at all levels both verbally and in writing

Desirable
- Preferably qualified in recognised continuous improvement programmes/techniques.
