POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Clubhouse Director is responsible for overseeing a high-quality extended learning program for students. They will collaborate with families, school and community partners to ensure the program's success. As a member of the BGCP Site Leadership Team, the Clubhouse Director will provide input and feedback to ensure consistent implementation of the program. This role serves as a "second shift school principal" to support students' extended learning and promote school success.
The Clubhouse Director is responsible for overseeing a high-quality extended learning program for students. They will collaborate with families, school and community partners to ensure the program's success. As a member of the BGCP Site Leadership Team, the Clubhouse Director will provide input and feedback to ensure consistent implementation of the program. This role serves as a "second shift school principal" to support students' extended learning and promote school success.
This role reports directly to the Regional Director.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure Program Implementation & Fidelity:
- Create and publish site calendar, quarterly program schedules, and daily "deliverables" or tasks for staff to complete each day that contribute to the overall success of program
- Conduct daily observations, and support weekly/bi-weekly observations of staff during programming with Instructional Coach
Manage & Develop Site Team:
- Create and facilitate daily staff huddles and bi-weekly staff meetings to foster a positive team culture, ensure effective communication and engagement, collaborative problem-solving, and alignment with organizational goals.
- Facilitate weekly or bi-weekly 1 to 1 meetings with direct reports to discuss site goals and performance, and provide constructive feedback.
- Collaborate with instructional coaching team and associate site director to determine weekly and monthly program goals and focuses.
- Exemplify professionalism and our Core Values of Curiosity, Respect, Ownership, Ganas, Unity and Equity to cultivate a positive culture for both staff, students, families and community partners.
Manage & Develop Site Systems:
- Develop and train staff on the site systems and plans (Safety Plan, Emergency Plan, etc.), aligned with school partners/BGCP/BGCA.
- Ensure the maintenance and accuracy of site data management systems to maintain important student rosters – including Remind emergency contacts, authorized and prohibited pick–up lists, authorized student walk home lists, etc.
- Complete monthly audits of data systems to ensure that the ASES & ELOP data is accurate across BGCP and District platforms. (Rosters, Food/Snack Distribution)
- Create and maintain systems for materials inventories, emergency supplies, program materials purchases, and IT/Operations helpdesk tickets.
- Create and maintain systems for caregiver communications.
Manage Community Partnerships:
- Facilitate monthly or quarterly meetings with school leadership/community school coordinator.
- Create monthly opportunities for school and community partners to engage with the program.
- Establish systems for sharing key information (enrollment, incident reports, annual action plans etc.) with school partners and BGCP leadership.
Oversee Site Budgets :
- Maintain systems for expense budget management in order to stay within given line items.
- Review budgets and expenses monthly/quarterly with regional leader.
- Develop annual budgets with regional leader.
- Review and approve staff hours in Trinet.
CORE COMPETENCIES:
- Proven ability developing structured plans and successfully seeing them through to completion. Combines creative problem-solving with strong logistical planning skills to ensure program objectives are met with precision and full execution from start to finish.
- Experience managing and leading teams of 10+ employees, cultivating a positive and collaborative team culture.
- Ability to observe staff during program, provide immediate feedback, and clearly articulate performance expectations.
- Ability to demonstrate a calm, supportive, and empathetic leadership style while remaining firm when necessary.
- Proven ability managing high-pressure situations, confidently resolve conflicts across all position levels (from Youth Program Leaders to Associate Site Directors).
- Demonstrates flexibility in both operational processes and decision-making.
- Proven ability building and maintaining relationships with external partners, ensuring alignment and collaboration to support the program's success.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Commitment to BGCP’s mission and vision and working with K-8 youth.
- Bachelor's degree or 5 years of equivalent experience. (or a combination of the two)
- A minimum of one-year successful experience in building relationships with diverse youth communities and constituents (K-8 experience preferred).
- Spanish fluency is a plus.
- Adaptable: Demonstrate flexibility in adjusting to evolving priorities, organizational changes, and new processes with a positive attitude.
- Communication Skills: Ability to effectively convey ideas clearly, listen actively to diverse perspectives, and adapt communication style to various audiences, both in verbal and written communication
- Critical Thinking: Ability to analyze complex situations, make informed decisions, and solve problems effectively. It involves evaluating information, considering various perspectives, and making sound judgments that align with BGCP's mission and goals. Be comfortable with making and owning decisions with confidence
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Ability to efficiently collaborate with site team and external partners towards common goals by breaking down barriers and fostering teamwork through effective project management and interpersonal skills
- Donor Tours: Lead engaging and informative tours for donors, providing insight into BGCP’s mission, programs, and impact
- Safety & Risk Management: Ability to implement safety protocols, in alignment with BGCP standards, to ensure the well-being of members, staff, volunteers, and guests. This includes emergency response planning and coordination, site access control, and policy adherence
- Supervision & Staff Development: Ability to recruit, train, and supervise program staff & volunteers. Providing ongoing coaching and support to ensure staff & volunteers are well-equipped to work with youth Be an active leader in developing a positive staff culture and a sense of working as a team. Inspire staff to strive toward attaining the BGCA and BGCP missions and goals and ensure that staff members adhere to BGCP and site-wide behavior and discipline policies
LOCATION:
Orange Park Clubhouse in South San Francisco, CA.
WORK SCHEDULE:
Monday 10:30 am - 7:30 pm.
Wednesday 9:30am-6:30pm.
Tuesday, Thursday, & Friday 10:00am-7:00pm.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
- Employment Status: Full-Time, Salary.
- Pay Range: $95,000 - $105,000, depending on experience (DOE).
