POSITION SUMMARY:
This position reports directly to the Clinical Coordinator and/or Director of the Child and Adolescent Ambulatory Services.Provides direct and indirect clinical services to children and/or adolescents in need of mental health care and is responsible for the provision of age-appropriate care. Core skills include crisis assessment, intake assessment, individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, treatment planning, case management, team/community collaboration, patient/family education, and triage/discharge planning. This position also interfaces with managed care for the purpose of obtaining authorization for treatment. As skill set permits, may provide flexible coverage to another service within Behavioral Health on a short-term basis. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION
- This position requires a Master’s Degree and licensure in the State of as Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC).
- Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification is considered a plus.
EXPERIENCE
- Clinicians in Child and Adolescent Services must have a minimum of one (1) year experience in family therapy with age group served, preferably in the Behavioral Health Field and level of care age-specific competencies are required.
- Training and/or familiarity with Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), familiarity with abuse and neglect reporting and duty-to-warn mandates, knowledge of community-based resources and experience with pre-authorization and billing processes is preferred.
COMPETENCIES
- This position requires computer competency with basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook, strong clinical skills including a demonstrated team orientation, and strong written as well as verbal communication skills using the English language.
- Must be flexible in approach so that service-specific as well as overall system needs can be met.
- Must be able to function effectively and, at times, independently in an environment where multitasking is necessary.
