The 163rd Street Improvement Council’s mission is the provision of resources to improve individuals’ quality of life. We offer Strength Support, and Stability, not only for those on the journey from homelessness to fully appropriate housing, but to a complete continuum of humanity. From pre-natal care, through end of life planning; for individuals who are low-income, formerly homeless, veterans, recently released from incarceration, LGBTQ; or with special physical, cognitive, or developmental needs, the 163rd Street Improvement Council offers resources, referrals, and direct services to help.
Whenever possible, we provide direct assistance, but we also rely on cooperative measures, advocacy, and education. Our goal is to spur the transformative process through access to services, treatment,
education, advocacy, and training so that, individually and collectively, all people will enjoy fuller and more abundant lives.
The Company:
Created in 1965, the 163rd Street Improvement Council, Inc. (or the Council, as we like to call it) involved itself in the fight against community deprivation of resources in the South Bronx. Determined to make a difference in the lives of the residents, the Council began to create affordable housing in the
community.
Pioneers in the Bronx for housing and human service programs, we offer the special needs, homeless, and low-income populations an array of support services. We have become a source of Strength, Support, and
Stability for those on the journey from homelessness to fully appropriate housing. Our approach is unique and innovative. We provide a continuum of care, including a range of transitional, congregate, and other residential programs.
The Role:
Under the direction of the Program Director, the Clinical Supervisor is responsible for managing a strong clinical team under the supervision/oversight of the Program Director. The Clinical Supervisor is involved with clinical operational oversight and supervision to assigned clinical service staff that may include fully licensed social workers, and other clinical staff members This position assists with managing and
ensuring service quality and clinical documentation compliance while working closely with the Program Director and team members to achieve the organization’s clinical and fiscal division goals and service
outcomes.
Specific Requirements:
This is a full-time shift position scheduled between the hours of 9am-5pm. Staff may be asked to adjust their work schedule depending on the operational needs of the site.
2024 Job Description: Clinical Supervisor
Duties and Responsibilities:
Adheres to all current federal & state laws, as well as the Council’s Policies and Procedures, including the safeguarding of confidential protected health information and compliance with the Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act (HIPAA).
Standard: Monitors HIPAA compliance and reports breaches in accordance with corporate policy within 24 hours.
Demonstrates an awareness, appreciation and respect for diverse cultures and individual
differences of clients and fellow employees.
Identifies culturally relevant issues and implements communications in a manner appropriate to them.
Reports immediately any suspected incidents of abuse or neglect to his/her immediate supervisor and document the incident within 24 hours.
Provide orientation and training for all clinical staff.
Participates actively in agency quality assurance activities including performance and outcomes review, case record review, stakeholder satisfaction review, incident review, and improvement planning.
Establishes relationships and communicates with the clients, caseworkers, family members and staff.
Assuring that practitioners meet the requirements for licensing and registration.
Identifying and communicating quality assurance and risk management issues to the appropriate managers.
Monitoring resource utilization to identify when additional personnel is required.
Inspecting the facility and making recommendations for building alterations or process adjustments to guarantee patient safety.
Assuring clinical documentation compliance, accuracy, and quality.
Standard: Ensures weekly review and management of caseload and productivity.
Ensures clinical services are scheduled by the providers in the electronic records system and are
delivered to clients weekly.
Supervising challenging cases to assist practitioners.
Attends department/agency meetings as required.
Participates in leading clinical team meetings to ensure clinical service goals are met and program and organizational developments are communicated, understood and implemented.
Attends trainings related to the responsibilities of the position as required.
Conduct PIPS, Writeups and terminations as necessary.
Conduct Performance reviews for assigned staff members.
Completes other duties as assigned
Provides clinical supervision for assigned clinical personnel and other support staff. Supervision needs will be evaluated based on clinical experience and performance.
o Standard: This may be weekly but not less than on a biweekly basis.
Conducts documented supervision with assigned clinical staff and provides ongoing feedback to each provider concerning quality of clinical services and work performance.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
2024 Job Description: Clinical Supervisor
Master’s Degree in Management, Social Work, or an allied Health Care Profession
5 years of progressive supervisory experience.
Experience working with People with AIDS, Congregate Housing, HASA, or a similar program is preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and Google Suite
Excellent administrative and communication skills
Must be a self-starter who is highly organized, able to prioritize and is highly flexible/adaptive.

This position has supervisory responsibilities.
Working Environment:
This position will be held in a professional office. This position routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. This position is subject to travel.
