Clinical Specialist - Full-time Days Varies, Dept of OB/Gyn, Morristown Medical Center - Atlantic Health System

Job Description

Responsible for applying advanced nursing knowledge and specialized expertise and experience in the promotion of quality nursing care.

Principal Accountabilities

• Advocates for nursing personnel, patients, and family members.
• Supports policy and services which advocates for patients' rights and optimal environments of healthcare.
• Collaborates with staff to identify interventions within the plan of care which reflects current scientific knowledge, practice, and promote continuity of care.
• Performs evidence-based interventions consistent with patient/family needs. Evaluates effectiveness of interventions for resolution or recommendations to improve quality of care and nursing practice.
• Participates in performance improvement activities as related to area of specialization and/or unit. Investigates, evaluates, and recommends supplies and capital equipment.
• Supports preparation for Joint Commission, DOH and other regulatory agency visits. Supports implementation of policies, guidelines, and recommendations of the regulatory bodies.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
  
  

Required

QUALIFICATIONS

• Master's degree in healthcare or related field.
• Certification in Advanced Practice Nurse (APRN), Basic Life Sciences (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
• Valid state Nursing License.

• 2-3 years of previous Clinical Specialist experience preferred.
